The Rural Municipality of St Andrews is seeking applications from talented and qualified candidates for the position of Culture and Heritage Manager.
Reporting to the Recreation Director, this position will lead or assist in the delivery and expansion of culture and heritage services for residents of the municipality, as well as provide administrative assistance and perform other related duties as required for tourism initiatives.
The role works from and manages the day-to-day operations of the St. Andrews Heritage Centre (museum) and the various program, events, tours and includes staff and volunteer supervision, recruitment and training.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum bachelor’s degree in museum studies, cultural studies, curatorial practice, history, anthropology, or related fields; or a significant amount of related work experience in a museum setting. Working with non-profit organizations, supervising staff, managing volunteers, and development, implementation and delivery of cultural programs and services is an asset. Computer efficiency, website management, social media, basic bookkeeping and budgeting knowledge is required. Successful candidate must possess effective communication skills, interact effectively with the public, problem solve, make decisions, demonstrate initiative and be flexible.

This is a full-time (35 hrs/wk) permanent position, offering a comprehensive benefits package and pension plan after 6-month probation period. Salary range $51,000 – $68,000 and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
