Job Description:

The RM of Gimli is seeking an experienced water & wastewater operator. Class 2 certification in all 4 disciplines is preferred. This full time position will be under the supervision of the Utilities Manager. Duties will include performing various tasks necessary for the maintenance and operation of the municipal sewer and water utilities within Provincial regulations. Current systems include 1 Wastewater Treatment Plant (Class 3), 8 Collection Lift Stations (Class 2) and 1 Water Treatment Plant (Class 2) and water distribution system (Class 2).
Candidate must possess the following:
•Class II or Class I Provincial Certification preferred
•Operators in Training will be considered provided they have two years post secondary education in a related field
•Experience in operating and maintaining equipment is preferred
•Valid Class 3 Drivers License with air preferred
•Have knowledge of Workplace Safety Practices.
•Must be physically fit, able to lift at least 50 pounds.
•Excellent communication and organizational skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment is required.

The candidate may be required to work shift work, including weekends, and to be on call and/or available for any call out emergencies that may arise from time to time. Salary in accordance with the collective agreement.
