The Opportunity:
The City of Selkirk is currently in search of a Survey/Asset Management Student to join our team. Under the direction of the Manager of Utilities, the incumbent is responsible for participating in duties related to administering the capital asset management program for utility assets for the City of Selkirk.
Job Duties:
1. Asset Management Program Administration
• Assist with the inspection of sanitary manholes using GIS to navigate.
• Assist with review and catalogue CCTV of sanitary sewers.
2. Surveying
• Assist the Engineering Technologist with field data collection.
• Assist with interpreting as-built drawings.
3. Perform other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:
1. Education, Knowledge and Experience
Minimum Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current student in Construction Management, Civil Engineering/Technologist Program at college/technical school or Bachelor of Science and Engineering
• Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License.
• Ability to work with wastewater and chemicals.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. This includes the ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
• Ability to work independently.

Comments: This casual non-union position is open to students who are enrolled in a co-operative education program and seeking employment as part of that program. Preference will be given to Red River College students in the Civil Engineering Technology Program.
