Job Description:

Prairie View is a thriving region in the prairies of south western Manitoba with an approximate population of 2161. It is situated amongst the beautiful Birdtail and Assiniboine Valley regions, encompassing the communities of Birtle, Miniota, Foxwarren, Arrow River, Beulah, Isabella, Crandall and Solsgirth. Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Birtle Miniota & District Development Corporation (BMDDC) is seeking a self-motivated, qualified, results oriented leader for a fulltime Economic Development Officer.

The EDO will be responsible for planning and implementing community and economic development strategies, land use planning activities, and projects to support the Municipality’s economic priorities and initiatives. They will also lead the municipality in planning projects and priorities for industrial, commercial, residential and other areas of land use. They will take appropriate action to retain existing businesses, encourage and assist local expansion, identify and entice new businesses to locate in the community and market Prairie View area as a place to live, work, visit and do business.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, be able to work alone and in a team setting and have post secondary education in a related field with complimentary experience.
